Our sweet lil’ buckaroo is four months old today. Four months old! I can’t believe how much the little guy has changed in four short months. Gone is the little squishy newborn and in his place is this solid, happy, active baby. It seems like he’s changing everyday, learning new things, observing the world around him and I just love to soak it all in from the sidelines.
Every day sweet boy, you capturing our hearts more and more with your smiles, squeals and cuteness.
Things we’ve seen this from you this month:
Your hands and fingers have become a favorite, followed closely by your feet. Your defaults are your index and middle finger together and every so often you’ll tackle your entire fist.
You’ve become such a smiley baby and love to show off your silly grin to anyone that pays attention to you. The gals at the post office say they look forward to your afternoon visits each day because your guaranteed to give them a happy smile and brighten their day.
Along with your smiles we’ve been hearing a lot more of you. Quick funny outbursts and giggles, ‘conversations’ that just go and go (you love talking to Mom and Laura when you’re sitting in the back seat during car rides), grunts when your straining to reach your feet, the silly little fake cough that makes you grin, even the new fussy cry that lets us know it’s time for bed is a sweet sound.
Not only do you love your hands, love to smile, and love to talk but this month you really got the hang of tummy time and can go for long stretches. You love to look around at the world and at your crazy momma with the camera. Just in the last few weeks you’ve immediately go into a swim motion when placed down. Arms and feet are a movin’ and in the last couple days you’ve been pushing your little tush higher and higher.
Your growin’ like a weed son, and we’ve had to retire a few sets of 6-9 month clothes already. Sad but exciting at the same time.
This month I bought a jumparoo and you absolutely love to bounce around in there staring at the numerous (obnoxious) toys encircling you. The alertness in your eyes and the constant scanning of the room tells us that you are incredibly aware of your surroundings now and you've gotten so interactive compared to just a few months ago. Grabbing toys, staring at the TV, turning your head when someone walks in the room and talks, and watching McKinney the dog do his thing are all some of your faves lately.
I love how you recognize your daddy and I and your face lights up immediately when you see us. I love that you are extremely happy in the mornings when you see us standing over your bassinet. Your just so cute, both daddy and I can’t bear to move you into your nursery full time yet. It’s such a comforting feeling to have you close to us still.
My little expressive sweet boy, you crack me up. You make my heart hurt. You make me cry sometimes just looking at you. You've made me open my eyes and decipher what is really important in this life, and what is totally insignificant. We love you so much baby. Words just cannot express.
