The Perfect Flight

>> Sunday, September 26, 2010

Sweet lil' buckaroo was such a angel the entire flight from Seattle to Chicago this morning.
Not a fuss or cry, just lots of smiles, coos (and catnaps).
And the adventure begins!

Never a Good Time...

>> Friday, September 24, 2010

Oh this mama is sick. Worried sick and sick, sick. Literally.

Sadly, I came down with a cold Sunday afternoon/evening that about knocked me on my backside Wednesday. And when I got the text from Jack yesterday that said he had come down with it, I just about cried. Poor Jack doesn't do so well with colds and flying.

It's so true, there is never a good time to ever be sick. But this timing has me absolutely worried sick as we are getting ready to host John and Ashley's baby shower tomorrow afternoon/evening and then just a few hours later, we load the car to head to the airport to catch a 6:00am flight to Chicago Sunday morning.

I'm so worried about the little guy catching the crud before our flight and while we're traveling. It just breaks my heart to think of him in any pain during our flight(s). So far he's showing no signs or symptoms. And would you know he's and has been the sweetest, easiest baby EVER this week. I was so looking forward to this trip as a time to rest, catch up on the blog(s), and explore the city with the boys. Maybe laying low and spending time in a hotel room is just what the Lord had in mind for us or maybe, just maybe we've got a super high flying germ fighter on our hands.

Come on sweet lil' boy, you can do it!

Five Months

>> Friday, September 17, 2010

I swear the days are getting shorter and the minute hand on the clock is moving twice as fast as it was a few weeks ago. I've been carrying around a running list of all your new discoveries in my phone little buddy (because I haven't found the time to get them down here). I'm amazed at the ground you cover this month. I think this has been one of my favorites so far. Your personality is coming through more and more, you've become more expressive and vocal, and your sweetness melts my heart more and more everyday.

In your fifth month you've...

- Mastered the art of reaching for things.
- Mom, momma, momo, and moomoom are your favorite sounds. It cracks me up that you appear to be so proud of your new 'words'.
- If you spot it, the pacifier is in hand and to your mouth.
- Your first two bottom teeth appeared, one right after the other.
- Books have become a great source of entertainment and you love to sit and look (and eat) at them. You'll sit for an hour or more on the couch each day 'playing' with your stack.
- You've got the backwards crawl/scoot down. Your up on all fours making the rocking motion, but only manage to head in one direction.
- We had to retire the swing and papasan chair this month. You've learned how to pull yourself up into a sitting position and it was starting to make mama a little too nervous.

New Discoveries

>> Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Gosh it's been a busy week 'round here with fun new milestones. Earlier in the week, lil' buckaroo's bite was getting a little harder. Jack and I both had had our suspicions that he might be teething (even after a few folks called us crazy). He's drooling has been increasing, but not enough for a bib. And golly he's been lovin' on Sophie more and more.

Sure enough, our suspicions were spot on! A new little bottom tooth is making it''s grand entrance, poking it's little top out like an Arctic iceberg. Cute, cute, cute.

Here's keeping our fingers crossed that the teething stage is a smooth one.

And tonight! Wyatt's first real taste of real food!

On the menu, avocado! Delish!

A Little Sunshine

>> Thursday, September 2, 2010

Today, as most days have been lately, I was slammin' busy with mustache orders. I had plan to work through lunch, but a little birdie knocking on the bathroom sunlight (seriously), suggested we get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine. So we did.

I grabbed a blanket, the kiddo, and a Subway sandwich and we had a picnic at Lake Wilderness. I'm so glad we did. I wouldn't trade the the hour watching Wyatt explore the grass with his little hands and feet, play with Sophie (his giraffe) in the sunshine, and listen to him laugh at all the little things that caught his attention for all the mustaches orders in the world.

Our Wonderful Begining

Sunday, December 2nd 2007

What a day, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our day with friends and loved ones. It truly was one of the happiest days of both our lives and we loved each and every minute of it!

Our planning process was a whirl wind. Who says you can’t plan the perfect day in three months, and have a blast doin’ it?! I realized during our planning how truly lucky I am to have Jack to stand beside. Our happy day was truly a testimony of team work, love, compromise and countless episodes sittin’ side by side watching WE tv wedding shows.

Small and intimate was our goal...no maid of honor, no best man, no big wedding party, just Jack’s adorable nieces as the flower girls. Our original guest count was not to exceed 50, a comfortable 100 graced us with their presence. It was intimate, warm, exciting…it was the best day we’ve shared together.

Come Take a Peek!
