Nut jobs in Ecuador

Finishing our three week South American adventure in Chile today. Maybe we have a name?! Post coming soon!
________
It took twenty three weeks and I officially have my first real grumble.

Maybe it’s the four time changes in two and half weeks or the fact that we are sleeping on two twin (extra, extra firm) mattresses pushed together, or the late night dinner seating, or the two high sugary desserts the waiter brings at the end of each enormous meal, or the yummy decaf coffee I’ve had at the end of each night and it’s traces of caffeine, or the neighbor next door that I swear has contracted some sort of third world whooping cough...but man! I’ve had a rough go of it this week when it comes to sleeping.

Oh how I miss our bed at home. My hips hurt, my back hurts, I can’t get the fort of pillows I build around me situated, I’m having a heck of a time staying on one side or the other, and my mind has been racing a million miles a minute.

Is this what the next four months (and beyond) is like?! Oh please, please, please say it isn’t so.

But on a happy note! I’m cheerful to report that all and all I’m fairing remarkably well as our trip winds down. (Today is our last day in Santiago, Chile.) No crazy swollen ankles to speak of, no random in the middle of the night Charlie horses, no sign of heartburn after mountains and mountains of chocolate and other acidic goodies, no nothing.

I’ve been feeling a little nuisanced by a scratchy throat the last day or two, but I’m it hoping it will clear up before it turns.

Our Wonderful Begining

Sunday, December 2nd 2007

What a day, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our day with friends and loved ones. It truly was one of the happiest days of both our lives and we loved each and every minute of it!

Our planning process was a whirl wind. Who says you can’t plan the perfect day in three months, and have a blast doin’ it?! I realized during our planning how truly lucky I am to have Jack to stand beside. Our happy day was truly a testimony of team work, love, compromise and countless episodes sittin’ side by side watching WE tv wedding shows.

Small and intimate was our goal...no maid of honor, no best man, no big wedding party, just Jack’s adorable nieces as the flower girls. Our original guest count was not to exceed 50, a comfortable 100 graced us with their presence. It was intimate, warm, exciting…it was the best day we’ve shared together.

Come Take a Peek!
