Two Weeks?!

>> Thursday, April 29, 2010

Holy smokes where did the last fourteen days go?! Has it really been two weeks already? I think I'm now beginning to understand what friends and family with children really meant when they said the days will just zip by.

At the end of everyday I shake my head trying to figure out what we did that consumed the entire day, and why the to-do list is still so long. But then I look over at our sweet precious angel and realize I did everything I needed to do, love and get to know our little man a little more.

Milestones and fun happenings this week:

Thursday was a big day, we had our two week old check up and Corbin came over after work to take newborn photos of the little one.

The pediatrician said our little buckaroo was perfect in every way. (Just what a proud first time mama wants to hear!) Our little man has packed on the pounds! He weighed in at a whooping 10lbs. Since birth (and his 10% loss) he's gained almost a half a pound a day! Nice work little buddy.

I came loaded with a whole slew of questions and turns out everything is normal and we have nothing to be worried about. Is the cooing and loud sighs normal? (I'm still a little spooked by our NICU visit.) - Some babies are just 'loud', and Hudson is LOUD. Is his rapid constant breath rate (60+ bpm) out of norm? - A steady rate of 70+ is cause for concern, 60+ is still considered normal.

Corbin's visit and photo shoot was a blast. I think he was able to snag quite a few amazing shots before Hudson ran out of steam. I can't wait to see Corbin's talents capturing our precious little one during this fleeting stage.

I think we are seeing the final days of the umbilical cord. When Hudson came home from the hospital his stump was unusually long. As it's been loosen, it's starting to catch more and more, thus bleeding more and more. While at the doctor, I asked if she could trim it up a bit. Since she has, it's rapidly been shrinking more and more each day.

Our Wonderful Begining

Sunday, December 2nd 2007

What a day, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our day with friends and loved ones. It truly was one of the happiest days of both our lives and we loved each and every minute of it!

Our planning process was a whirl wind. Who says you can’t plan the perfect day in three months, and have a blast doin’ it?! I realized during our planning how truly lucky I am to have Jack to stand beside. Our happy day was truly a testimony of team work, love, compromise and countless episodes sittin’ side by side watching WE tv wedding shows.

Small and intimate was our goal...no maid of honor, no best man, no big wedding party, just Jack’s adorable nieces as the flower girls. Our original guest count was not to exceed 50, a comfortable 100 graced us with their presence. It was intimate, warm, exciting…it was the best day we’ve shared together.

Come Take a Peek!
