What?! Three more days?!

>> Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Holy smokes the days are flying by! I truly can't believe it. Seeing that number this morning, lit a fire under my bottom to get the last of my baby to-do projects finished up. One of those on the list was the above the crib decor.

I wasn't completely sold on what we had prior. It was a little too busy visually, and although the shelves were securely anchored, not the safest for the lil' buckaroo if the house started rockin'.
Sooo...after weeks and weeks of cruising online for ideas and shopping at the local favs, I decided to go the DIY route. A month or so ago I sent dear Jack with orders in hand to pick up a few yards of fabric at Ikea. Along with my must haves he also picked out two yards of this colorful Fredricka tree pattern.
I’m not sure why I hadn’t tried it on for size before, but after removing the existing shelves and décor we had hung, and duct taping the print above the crib for giggles, I was sold.

My initial thought was to frame the fabric, but after a quick test run, it was a bit too busy took away from the fun whimsy print.

I love the end result! Safe, colorful, fun and cheap (you can never beat cheap). Woohoo, one more to-do crossed off the list.

Our Wonderful Begining

Sunday, December 2nd 2007

What a day, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our day with friends and loved ones. It truly was one of the happiest days of both our lives and we loved each and every minute of it!

Our planning process was a whirl wind. Who says you can’t plan the perfect day in three months, and have a blast doin’ it?! I realized during our planning how truly lucky I am to have Jack to stand beside. Our happy day was truly a testimony of team work, love, compromise and countless episodes sittin’ side by side watching WE tv wedding shows.

Small and intimate was our goal...no maid of honor, no best man, no big wedding party, just Jack’s adorable nieces as the flower girls. Our original guest count was not to exceed 50, a comfortable 100 graced us with their presence. It was intimate, warm, exciting…it was the best day we’ve shared together.
