Twenty One Weeks

>> Friday, November 27, 2009

I think I may have died and gone to heaven. I had a feeling this would be a relaxing trip, but I had no idea it would be as laid back and easy as this (and we still have two more weeks left!) I would HIGHLY recommend a pre-baby getaway to anyone considering taking that one last hurrah. Even in the land of off limits free flowing champagne and authentic margaritas I’m on cloud nine.

I felt like a champ, but it has been a week of firsts and testing new waters (literarily). We’ve experienced quite a climate change over the past couple days. It was in the mid 40’s and a bit chilly at home when we left. Now we are smack dab in the middle of the hot, hot direct sun, with temps in the high 80’s. During our fifteen mile (okay maybe two mile) hike on the beach in Acapulco I started to feel a little lightheaded and a little too warm. It wasn’t enough to cause major concern but it was a good lesson to pay attention to my activity level and surroundings in the coming weeks.

I’ve also discovered this week I can’t make it up five flights of stairs without feeling like my chest is going to explode.

Four flights, completely doable, five and the boat starts to spin and it’s hard to catch my breath. On a positive note, the way the boat is situated and our room location, to bypass the SLOW elevators and head to the happen levels, more often then not we are traveling up and down three flights, which is perfect in my book.

And from the Bump...

By week 21, your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces, and his length from head to rump is seven inches, about the length of a spoon. Ten and one-half ounces is also the size bear cubs are when they are born. Your baby has begun his main project for the rest of your pregnancy: putting on weight. He regularly drinks amniotic fluid for hydration and nutrition, urinates in the fluid and breathes in and out (fortunately, the fluid pool refreshes itself every three hours). His eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed. Taste buds are forming on her tongue. His eyelids are still sealed, but her eyes are active.

Our Wonderful Begining

Sunday, December 2nd 2007

What a day, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our day with friends and loved ones. It truly was one of the happiest days of both our lives and we loved each and every minute of it!

Our planning process was a whirl wind. Who says you can’t plan the perfect day in three months, and have a blast doin’ it?! I realized during our planning how truly lucky I am to have Jack to stand beside. Our happy day was truly a testimony of team work, love, compromise and countless episodes sittin’ side by side watching WE tv wedding shows.

Small and intimate was our goal...no maid of honor, no best man, no big wedding party, just Jack’s adorable nieces as the flower girls. Our original guest count was not to exceed 50, a comfortable 100 graced us with their presence. It was intimate, warm, exciting…it was the best day we’ve shared together.
